Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Vineyard Compliance Manager, this role provides operational support in maintaining water and air regulatory compliance requirements for Trinchero Family Estates Vineyard properties. The role assists senior vineyard leaders in aligning to state and county regulations and sustainable farming programs. Responsible for helping manage water-related databases, attending regulatory meetings, and supporting compliance with various water, air, and vineyard certifications. Helps improve and administer vineyard air & water management systems and tracking databases. Provides support on agricultural water, air, and land issues for all TFE ranches as needed.

- Assists in implementing TFE’s Vineyard compliance strategies to ensure compliance with state and county water and air regulations, aligning with sustainable farming program requirements.
- Attends regional and state water regulatory-related meetings, including Ground Sustainability Agency (GSA), Irrigated Lands Program (IRLP), Regional GSA (GSP) meetings, and Reclamation District (RD) meetings. Supports maintaining vineyard compliance with CEQA.
- Assists in the collection, monitoring, and analysis of water use data in preparing annual water use reports for state and local agencies, annual reporting.
- Provides support in managing air quality requirements, including burn permits, dust control, stationary diesel/internal combustion engines, gasoline dispensing facilities, and portable engine registrations.
- Maintain a proficient knowledge of current federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.
- In-Field support for maintaining vineyard water infrastructure, including groundwater wells, irrigation canals, reservoirs, flow meters, telemetry, weather stations, etc. Assists in water meter hardware and software application to ensure SB-88 regulatory compliance.
- Assists in installation and maintenance of satellite/cellular telemetry systems, weather stations, and other ag-tech components. Promptly troubleshoots emergent issues with our Ag-Tech, ensuring optimal performance of the systems. Functions as liaison between vendors and the compliance team to address emergent issues when they cannot be fixed in field.
- Prepare maps, assist with data management and application of ArcGIS data and tools. Assist with the collection and reconciling of weigh tags during harvest.
- Perform other assigned duties not described above, but within the range of knowledge and abilities expected of a Vineyard Compliance Specialist.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural, biological, environmental, natural resources, chemical or physical sciences/engineering, or an equivalent science degree.
- Years of Experience: Two or more years of experience in regulatory or environmental compliance. Experience working in agriculture preferred.
- Previous experience working in energy, water, and air-based projects.
- Knowledgeable of principles and practices of ArcGIS standards.
- Proficient in ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, GIS Services, Web maps and Web apps.
- Knowledge of Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA), State Water Resource Control Board (SWRCB) annual water use reporting, Regional Water Quality Control Boards (RWQCB) irrigated lands regulatory program (ILRP), and air quality permitting highly desired.
- Demonstrates initiative and has strong communication skills. Knowledgeable of change management principles, knowing when to pivot, and how to engage team members effectively.
- Ability to work independently while also working to support team members on multiple projects.
- Valid California driver’s license to operate TFE vehicles.
Working Conditions:
- Moderate to heavy physical work
- Work site may be any one of Trinchero Family Estates’ facilities
- Standing for long periods of time (8 hours per day)
- Must comply with all safety equipment requirements including ear plugs and safety glasses
- Exposure to various chemicals in production areas
- Exposure to machinery, forklifts and related production equipment
- Long and irregular hours during peak periods or on various shifts
- Extensive walking and lifting of up to 55 pounds
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull and move as needed to reach, clean and service/use equipment
Salary Range: $66,560.00 - $99,840.00
The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location.
