Job Summary:

Reporting to the DTC Manager, the Tasting Room Lead will support the day-to-day operations of the Trinchero Napa Valley Tasting Room, while ensuring an elevated hospitality experience that exceeds guests’ expectations. Trinchero Napa Valley is the flagship, estate-driven pinnacle brand for the Trinchero family. Team members at TNV are an extension of the family’s approach to wine, community, and superlative hospitality.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with supervision of Tasting Room & staff including scheduling (lunches, breaks, etc.), group tastings and special projects
  • In the absence of the Tasting Room Manager or Assistant Manager, open & close as needed or scheduled including closing out registers and assisting with deposit recaps for Accounting.
  • Support Management team in weekly communications to Tasting Room staff of all current necessary Company information
  • Monitor training and skill development of all tasting room personnel (including temps)
  • Support the education of promoting the Wine Club Membership program to increase sales
  • Effective selling of wine (presentation & pouring) and retail products to reach the sales goals
  • Assist with special promotions/projects, tour, tasting and events in the Tasting Room
  • Assist with the displays of special promotions, seasonal décor and all other merchandise
  • Monitor and assist with all POS transactions and daily cash reconciliations
  • Assist with direct shipping orders/fulfillment
  • Assist in receiving new merchandise and ensure accuracy of products
  • Monitor and assist with monthly and annual inventory requirements
  • Complete all requisitions & tracking necessary for inventory control including GL coding
  • Inspect Tasting Room daily and maintain cleanliness, and aesthetic standards.
  • Monthly credit card reconciliation for purchases made for Tasting Room

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School degree or equivalent required
  • Experience: 2-3 years’ experience in winery hospitality, sales or related field required, 1 or more year in a lead role preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical, math skills and computer skills
  • Effective sales and customer service skills delivering increased sales
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Able to interact effectively with wide range of contacts, i.e. the public, co-workers and members of other departments

 

Working Conditions:

  • Retail and office environment
  • Regular working schedule to include weekends and holidays
  • Long and irregular hours during peak seasons and/or special events
  • Moderate to heavy physical work (moving wine cases and retail supplies, setting up for special events)
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds (case of wine)
  • Standing for long periods of time (8 hours per day)
  • Work site may be any one of Trinchero Family Wine & Spirits Estates facilities (rotation)
  • Comply with Company safety regulations

Salary Range: $28.00 -  $32.00  

The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location. TFE offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, PTO, wellness programs and fertility and family building benefits.   We also provide a 401(k) plan where TFE may make a discretionary profit-sharing contribution.
