Job Summary:

Tasting Room Assistant Manager is responsible for supervising all day-to-day operations in the tasting room.  This role is expected to exceed guest expectations, deliver exceptional visitor experiences, and drive sales while building brand awareness. The Tasting Room Assistant Manager is also responsible for supporting the achievement of revenue and wine club growth goals while supervising staff and managing operating expenses.

Management/Leadership:

  • Actively takes part in, as well as supervises, all Tasting Room staff (and temporary personnel) in the day-to-day operations and manages quality of performance to ensure best in class customer service is provided to all guests

  • Manages all the Tasting Room staff scheduling, including temporary personnel

  • Establish the tone of leadership and empowerment of the staff by creating a positive and respectful work environment, by leading through example, consistent with the Trinchero Family values

  • Partner with Tasting Room Manager in developing and implementing career planning and personal development of staff

  • Partner with Tasting Room Manager to complete annual performance reviews ensuring they are effective and completed on time.  Provide immediate, respectful, and constructive feedback in both positive and opportunity areas of employee performance. Responsible for disciplinary actions within the TFE guidelines.

  • Responsible for managing and executing weekly cycle counts and managing both mid-year and year-end inventory counts (wine and non-wine items)

  • Develop and build relationships with club members, prospective customers, and community businesses to drive visitation and purchases at tasting room.

Training:

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the POS system and Office application and responsible for training staff on all the systems

  • Manage all the required training of team and ensures adherence to all policies, procedures, and governmental regulations

  • Ensure all staff members are educated and proficient (including temporary support) on the TFE brands sold through the tasting room and family history

  • Educate team to promote the Club Membership program to increase sales

Financial Planning:

  • Partners with Tasting Room Manager to provide financial goals for the Tasting Room areas that will achieve yearly budget projections. Make educated recommendations for increasing sales

  • Assist in completing all end of day and end of month reports for Finance

Other:

  • Manage special assignments and projects as required

  • Support the Hospitality team at special events as required

 

Qualifications:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent supervisory experience.

  • Experience:  Three or more years of winery hospitality or retail management experience.   Supervisory experience required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Bilingual Skills preferred

  • Strong analytical, math skills and computer skills

  • Effective sales management skills with a proven track record and innovative techniques for increasing revenue

  • Effective problem-solving skills

  • Strong professional customer service skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to follow through on projects with minimal supervision

  • Enthusiasm for wine in general and Trinchero Family Estates and its products in particular

Working Conditions:

  • Regular working schedule to include weekends and holidays

  • Long and irregular hours during peak seasons and/or special events

  • Moderate to heavy physical work (moving wine cases and retail supplies, setting up for special events)

  • Work site may be any one of Trinchero Family Estates’ facilities

  • Standing for long periods of time (8 hours per day)

  • Carrying case(s) of wine to customer’s vehicle after purchase

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds (case of wine)

Salary Range: $65,000.00 -  $85,000.00  

The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location. TFE offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, PTO, wellness programs and fertility and family building benefits.   We also provide a 401(k) plan where TFE may make a discretionary profit-sharing contribution.
