Job Summary:

This position would be a great opportunity for an individual who would like to be exposed to the environmental and safety sides of the wine and spirits industry.

Essential Functions:

  • Continuous Improvement Project for Environmental Compliance:

Intern will support with the identification of improvement opportunities for activities in Environmental Compliance Reporting Processes and assist with the systematic approach to increase efficiency and enhancement of the current processes involved in Environmental reporting.

  • Winery Water Use Optimization

Intern will use the CSWA Winery Water Efficiency and Hotspots Tool to assess water using activities at the Main Street Winery and ultimately develop a conceptual facility water balance.

  • EHS Management System: Documentation of Processes

            Intern will Assist with the development of documents essential to the Environmental Health and Safety Management System.  Intern will support with the design of database.

  • Projects Directly supervised by EHS Manager(s) with EHS Technical and Subject Matter Expert support
  • Gain overall understanding of Environmental Protection, Occupational Health and Safety Management in the Wine Industry
  • Problem Solving and Process Improvement

  • Process Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, Problem Methodologies
  • Project Organization and Management
  • Cross-functional Collaboration

Qualifications:

  • Education: Study in Science Related Degree: e.g. Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Water Quality, Biology, Chemistry or an equivalent science degree.
  • Study in Science Related Degree: e.g. Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Water Quality, Biology, Chemistry or an equivalent science degree preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions, take directions, think critically and respond to frequently changing schedules.
  • Ability to work independently, develop analysis independently and as part of a team, and on multiple programs and projects.
  • Demonstrates a highly motivated work ethic and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and organizational skills, and computer skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, proven ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.
  • Ability to work with confidential information on a regular basis
  • Ability to pass a background check to allow authorized access to restricted information and areas as required by federal and/or state regulations.
  • Bilingual in Spanish

Salary Range: $22.00 -  $27.00  

The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location.
