Job Summary:

The Director of Import and Domestic Bulk Wines will lead the development and execution of Trinchero Family Estate’s bulk wine strategy, for imports and domestic sales. This role will focus on sourcing cost-effective, quality bulk wines to support COGS and building a pipeline for selling surplus or excess inventory. Partnering closely with the winemaking and the operations teams, this role will bring a commercial lens to bulk wine procurement and sales, aligning with business needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Bulk Wine Import Strategy:
    • Identify and develop global sourcing opportunities to import bulk wine aligned with cost and quality objectives.
    • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee the logistics and regulatory aspects of bulk wine imports.
    • Work with winemaking and operations to align imported bulk wine with production needs
  • Domestic Bulk Wine Sales:
    • Develop and execute a plan for selling surplus or excess domestic bulk wine.
    • Build and maintain a strong network of domestic buyers, brokers, and producers.
    • Work with inventory and cellar teams to identify wines available for sale.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with the Senior VP of Winemaking and cross-functional teams (finance, operations, supply chain) to align bulk wine strategy with business goals.
    • Provide insight into market trends and maintain pulse on global and domestic bulk wine pricing and supply.
  • Performance and Reporting
    • Track and report on cost savings, sales volume and supplier/buyer activity.
    • Support the annual planning cycle with volume forecasts and commercial targets related to bulk wine.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of wine industry experience with expertise in bulk wine sourcing, importing, and/or commercial sales.
  • Proven relationships with domestic and international suppliers and buyers.
  • Experience with bulk wine logistics and compliance.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a demonstrated ability to deliver against COGS.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent travel, both by car and air
  • Ability to lift at least 45 pounds (case of wine)
  • Long and irregular hours during peak seasons and/or special events

Salary Range: $130,500.00 -  $200,000.00  

The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location. TFE offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, PTO, wellness programs and fertility and family building benefits.   We also provide a 401(k) plan where TFE may make a discretionary profit-sharing contribution.
