District Manager - South Texas

Job Summary:

The District Manager role will be primarily focused on field work to support our wholesale partners and engage key customers in the South Texas markets.  The role can be based in or between the greater Austin or San Antonio areas.  The overall objective is to build the distribution footprint on all brands and grow our overall case volume.

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with distributor network on a weekly basis to execute distribution and brand building initiatives.  (100% focus on retail.)
  • Work in the field 4 days per week selling with 5th day devoted to meetings/admin duties.
  • Communicate, enforce and monitor National Account programs as they develop.
  • Strong ability or past experience in managing multiple unit retail and/or local chains.  
  • Educate distributor personnel and key account customers on our portfolio.
  • Make presentations to distributor network on weekly/monthly basis to educate them on direction and brand standards.
  • Formulate channel management plan of action with the correct amount of resources applied to each activity.
  • Conduct trade tastings and wine dinners targeting our key trade partners and customer fan base.
  • Effectively target POS usage and merchandising material in the right accounts.
  • Monitor competitive activities in the market place and communicate to the appropriate people with a suggested plan of action.
  • Utilize market data to identify opportunities within each channel and brand.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of distributor sales experience in the Texas market.
  • Strong presentation and account management skills with the ability to address distributor groups or individual accounts.
  • Ability to multi task ongoing programs.
  • High energy with the ability to execute 4 ride withs per week.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).  You will be asked to submit your best work.
  • 90% field work and 10% distributor meetings.
  • Must be able to work some nights and weekends depending on key activity commitments.
  • Please provide at least 2 references from the adult beverage industry.
  • Ability to travel throughout the market including San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi, and the Rio Grande Valley.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent travel, both by car and air
  • Ability to lift at least 45 pounds (case of wine)
  • Regular working schedule to include evenings and weekends
  • Long and irregular hours during peak seasons and/or special events
  • Moderate to heavy physical work (moving wine cases and retail supplies, setting up for special events)
