Wine Education Intern

Job Summary:

Assist with the daily operations of the Wine Education Department and associated Hospitality events. As to be determined, assist in TFE tasting rooms. Assure that all aspects of Wine Education are executed in a smooth, efficient and accurate fashion, while providing guest experiences of optimum quality.

Essential Functions:

  • Greet VIP tour groups and other visitors.
  • Confidently provide information about Trinchero Family Estates and its products.
  • Conduct tours of Trinchero facilities.
  • Present and pour the wines of Trinchero Family Estates at in-house tours, special events and outside tasting events as required.
  • Assist in the creation of educational content for internal/external use
  • Coverage on weekends, tours, offsite tastings, and special events.
  • Support in the operations and the set-up, execution and breakdown of Special Events.
  • As needed, assist in educational or company related programs and projects.
  • Collaborate on the creation of end of internship project with Events Intern.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred, not required.
  • Experience: 2 or more years’ experience in winery hospitality or related field preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for wine and spirits, Trinchero Family Estates, and its products.
  • Ability to re-locate from one facility to another during one shift.
  • Mobility required to conduct tours of Trinchero Family Estates facilities.
  • Relaxed, friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Able to interact effectively with wide range of contacts, i.e. the public, co-workers and members of other departments.
  • Basic computer skills (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) preferred.
  • Wine Education Certification preferred, e.g. WSET, CSW or similar

Working Conditions:

  • Regular working schedule to include weekends and holidays
  • Long and irregular hours during peak seasons and/or special events
  • Moderate to heavy physical work (moving wine cases and setting up for special events)
  • Work site may be any one of Trinchero Family Estates’ facilities
  • Standing for long periods of time (8 hours per day)
  • Ability to lift at least 60 pounds
