Job Summary:

The Financial Planning group is responsible for the accuracy and analysis for the financial plan and quarterly rolling forecasts and reporting and analysis of actuals and recommendations to assist management in making business decisions.

Supervise staff responsible for financial reporting and analysis:

  • Set priorities and follow up with staff.
  • Provide guidance and training to improve performance and increase knowledge.
  • Provide feedback on quality and quantity of work, deadlines, etc.
  • Help resolve problems with and review to improve process flow, documentation, and information by working cross functionally with other departments.
  • Instruct and provide cross training.
  • Prepare and discuss written performance evaluations, with quarterly check ins.
  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and that the controls established are not rendered ineffective.
  • Develop a cohesive working group through good communication, strong leadership, and support.

 

Planning and Forecasting

  • Manage annual budgeting process ensuring reasonableness and timeliness of the plan.
  • Review with business partners actuals vs forecast for quarterly updates.
  • Partner on five-year plan in accordance with the organization long term strategies.
  • Reconcile all plan data loads in BPC to ensure data is correct and complete.
  • Analytically review planning data for reasonableness and completeness.
  • Support Finance Analysts on reconciling data discrepancies/issues.
  • Provide documentation and schedules for Executive presentation.
  • Prepare R&O for Executive review.
  • Partner with Strategic Initiative team on unified planning to drive financial goals for the company.

 

 

 

 

 

 

BPC Management

  • Set up connections to various BPC models.
  • Create ad-hoc reports and run canned reports.
  • Load budgets/forecasts to BPC and run various packages.
  • Check packages to make sure there are no issues that need to be escalated to IT (ie: Full optimize, allocation packages).
  • Review master data conversions for accuracy in new products.

 

Data Management

  • Set up connections to various BPC models.
  • Ensure all BPC dimensions are updated for accurate reporting.
  • Communicate with cross functional teams on re-org’s, and hierarchy changes.
  • Lead process improvement in hierarchy and establish ways of working.
  • Troubleshoot data reporting issues.

 

Reporting and Analysis

  • Deliver monthly executive report package ensuring accuracy and relevance of information presented. Control output of reporting and flow of information.
  • Report on close results to CFO directly after gross margin closes with insights and highlights.
  • Deliver relevant business area reporting to key stake holders with analytical commentary.
  • Ensure accuracy of all financial reporting and joint venture calculations.
  • Provide education and clarity on reporting.
  • Review analysis of team members, coach to increase insights and accuracy.
  • Standardize reporting and delivery methods.
  • Publish approved reports.

 

JV/Partnership Management

  • Complete understanding of Partnership and Joint Venture contracts and management of deliverables noted in contracts.
  • Monthly partnership required reporting.
  • Quarterly review partnership caps and report to management.
  • Meet with Partners to review financial results and manage Finance relationship.
  • Create executive reviews on performance and KPI’s.
  • Lead communication from TFE to Partners.

 

Direct to Consumer

  • Contribution margin and expense analysis. Understand all the nuances in regards to the DTC business segment.
  • Deliver monthly results to the DTC and Tasting room business segments.
  • Create in-depth ad hoc analysis to support different segments of the business.
  • Study business trends and provide insight and recommendations with a forward to support company growth initiatives.
  • Assist business segment in evaluation of strategies and recommend business process improvements.
  • Lead process of zero-based budgeting.

 

 

 

New Product Innovation

  • Oversee new product process from a Finance perspective.
  • Challenge product reviews and ensure new products support the portfolio and requirements of the business.
  • Review product reviews for accuracy of assumptions and provide insights in addition to models.
  • Measure success of new product launches.

 

Accounting

  • Review and approve joint venture profit split calculations before team posts.
  • Monthly GL reconciliation review and approval.
  • Coordinate and manage supplier audits.
  • Process improvement projects as requested by management.
  • Review and post quarter COGS adjustment to SAP.
  • Prepare financial information to determine wine institute dues.
  • Participate in the annual audit and valuation.

 

Projects & Other Processes

  • Special projects as deemed necessary by department needs.
  • Develop, evaluate, and document business processes and procedures.
  • Lead process improvement.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Accounting or another related field
  • Experience: 5 or years in Financial Planning and Reporting or similar field
  • 5 or more years supervisory experience with meeting strict deadlines accurately
  • Proficient With Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Recent experience with computerized accounting systems - SAP experience preferred

Salary Range: $110,000.00 -  $180,000.00  

The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location. TFE offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, PTO, wellness programs and fertility and family building benefits.   We also provide a 401(k) plan where TFE may make a discretionary profit-sharing contribution.
