Financial Brand Analyst

Job Summary:

The Financial Analyst is  responsible for the contribution margins for assigned zones and brands within the TFE portfolio including review, research, and reporting on the results of net contribution including departmental spending compared to budget. 


Often you will be requested to assist in obtaining information for presentation to management or to answer inquires by Finance & Accounting department management.  There are certain primary responsibilities that will determine much of what you work on daily, weekly, and monthly as you plan and schedule your work.  It is important to recognize deadlines and provide adequate time for initial completion, self-review, supervisor review, as needed and ultimate completion.  You will need to move and refocus quickly from one area to another as the needs of the department change.  At the same time you need to ensure the highest quality of work and not allow deadlines or projects to pass unmet.

  • Contribution Margin Analysis and Expense Analysis:
    • Responsible for analyzing and documenting financial data. This includes contribution margin results. This includes components of sales and depletion analysis, pricing, costing, and other expense analysis for assigned zones and brands
    • Analyze and report full Net Contribution review to include expense analysis for all direct expenditures associated with assigned zones and brands
    • Responsible for accuracy of data; preparing reclasses, JE’s, and accruals as necessary
    • Prepare well written and concise summaries of your findings including actual versus plan and latest estimate variance analysis. Report conclusions in formats consistent with Finance department standards which will be distributed to Executive Management
    • Work with the Accounting department personnel to gain a full understanding of postings, corrections and reconciliations performed that have impact on the zones and brands you support
    • Develop strong working relationships with various department management and personnel to gain a full understanding of the zones and brands you support.  You will provide guidance; make recommendations and work together to solve problems
    • Review and understand the processes in place for the zones and brands you support to ensure that company policies and procedures are followed
    • Run reports to support analysis and ad hoc requests.
    • Prepare models to support product scenarios.
    • Study brand or zone trends and provide insight and recommendations with a forward to support company growth initiatives.


  • Rolling Forecast and Budget Preparation and Maintenance:
    • Assist the departments you support and the Financial Planning team in the preparation of the annual operating and rolling 24-month forecast.  This includes support, recommendations, calendarization, data entry to planning software, analysis, and reporting, etc.
    • You will need to gain a complete understanding of the changes that each department is expecting for the current and future quarters by working with the various department managers to report profitability and spend expectations for the 24 months to Executive management versus historical trends
    • Prepare well written and concise summaries of your findings and conclusions in formats consistent with TFE and the department standards as mentioned above



  • Education: B.S. in Accounting, Finance or another business-related field
  • Years of Experience: 1 or more years’ experience in similar position
  • Proficient with – Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to work with confidential information on a regular basis
  • Attention to detail w/good problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Recent experience with computerized accounting systems. SAP experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project management skills
  • Able to interact effectively with other winery departments at all levels
  • Accurate, attentive to detail, with good organizational skills and the ability to follow through on projects with minimal supervision
