Job Summary:

The Category Space Manager will manage various Space Management projects across all multiple channels, with an emphasis on chain retail merchandising.  This individual will work as a space management subject-matter expert within our Commercial Center of Excellence supporting our Category Management, NRD, and Sales Execution teams, while also working closely with marketing, shopper insights, and our distributor partners. Requires a self-motivated, entrepreneurial approach while also possessing strong commitment to team environment dynamics and collaboration across multiple departments.  The position will manage our corporate merchandising guidelines, develop planograms to support new item presentations and other sales initiatives, update & maintain our space management libraries, and publish space analytics to select internal & external customers.  The Category Space Manager will report to the Sr. Director of Category Management.

  • Responsible for building & maintaining Trinchero merchandising guidelines for retail execution.  This will involve working with multiple departments and data sources.
  • Capable of building shelves, schematics, and planograms with JDA or Apollo software, including uploading movement data, updating product & image libraries, merchandising approved assortment.
  • Create, consolidate, and publish distribution grids, add/delete lists, space-to-sales analysis, and planograms to internal and external customers.
  • Work across departments and with external customers (retailers and distributors) to ensure efficient execution of retailer approved schematics and to promote TFE generated merchandising best practices.
  • Maintain and update product and image libraries for software. 
  • Support NRD Sales Leads & Category Management with New Item Presentations.
  • Provide ad-hoc assistance as needed.


  • A Bachelor’s degree required.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of space management experience with a CPG supplier, distributor, retailer, or contractor, preferably within the adult beverage categories.
  • Understands the CPG industry, retail and off-premise channels and strategies, category management, space management, shopper insights, and shopper marketing concepts.
  • Strong computer skills are required; strength in Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to report, graph and present information
  • Excellent communication and technical skills with the ability to translate schematics into clear, actionable insights to influence business strategy
  • Self-motivated, self-starting, entrepreneurial approach while also possessing strong commitment to team environment dynamics
  • Strong project management skills and ability to plan and prioritize work effectively in a fast- paced environment
