Job Summary:
The Business Analyst, Commercial Data & Reporting is an entry-level role responsible for supporting the company’s commercial analytics and reporting capabilities, with a primary focus on managing the accuracy and availability of VIP distributor sourced data as well as developing and optimizing reporting tools that focus on sales performance, program execution and evaluation. This role serves as a key owner of depletions, distribution, distributor inventory, distributor revenue and invoice adjustment-related data sourced from VIP, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across commercial reporting. Working closely with the Director, Continuous Improvement & Commercial Analytics, this position is designed for individuals early in their careers or new to the wine industry who are eager to build expertise in distributor data, reporting, and modern business intelligence while pioneering applied AI.
Essential Functions:

- Serve as the primary day-to-day resource for VIP data management, including depletion, distribution, distributor inventory, revenue, pricing, and related commercial data fields.
- Develop, maintain, and update Power BI Dashboards and Reports and data assets that support program execution, chain authorizations and out of stock monitoring, sales performance tracking, distribution tracking, and depletion analysis.
- Develop and monitor tools focused on ensuring data quality, availability and capacity efficiency of our commercial data assets in Fabric and Power BI
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies related to distributor depletions, distribution, inventory, revenue, and invoice data by partnering with internal teams and distributor contacts as needed.
- Support distributor revenue and invoice adjustment reconciliation processes, helping ensure accurate visibility to commercial results and program spending.
- Assist in building and maintaining standardized reporting templates, scorecards, and recurring business reviews for Sales, Finance, and Commercial leadership.
- Monitor data quality and escalate issues proactively, ensuring timely and accurate reporting outputs for users across the business.
- Support annual planning, KPI tracking, and ad hoc analysis by compiling data from VIP and other sources into clear, actionable summaries.
- Document data definitions, business rules, reporting logic, and recurring processes to support consistency and continuity.
- Collaborate with Sales, Finance, IT, and Commercial team members to improve reporting, streamline processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide user support for reporting questions and help drive adoption of Power BI tools and standardized reports.
- Maintain a strong attention to detail while balancing recurring deadlines, reporting cycles, and ad hoc project support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field required.
- 0–2 years of experience in business analysis, sales analysis, reporting, finance, or a related analytical role; internships and relevant academic project experience are valuable.
- Entry-level candidates and individuals new to the wine or beverage alcohol industry are encouraged to apply.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; experience with Fabric, Power BI or other visualization/reporting tools preferred.
- Comfort working with large datasets, structured files, and recurring reporting processes.
- Experience or exposure to VIP, distributor data, scan data, or CPG/beverage data sources is a plus, but not required.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, errors, and exceptions in data.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Willingness to learn new systems, processes, and industry concepts in a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Ability to work on-site in Napa, CA on a regular in-office schedule.

Salary Range: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00
The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location.
