District Manager, Chains - Southern CA

Job Summary:

The District Manager role will be primarily focused on field work to support our distributor partners and engage key customers throughout the territory.  The overall objective is to build the Trinchero distribution footprint on all brands and grow our overall case volume.


Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with distributor network on a weekly basis to execute distribution and brand building initiatives.
  • Work 4-5 days a week in the field with sales teams ensuring program execution, product education, brand standards and relationship building with key store managers.
  • Manage time and activities to ensure achievement of company and supplier established goals and sales objectives within assigned accounts.
  • Conduct weekly sales meetings with assigned teams.
  • Communicate, enforce and monitor programs as they develop.
  • Educate distributor personnel and key account customers on Trinchero Family Estate wines.
  • Make presentations to distributor network on weekly/monthly basis to educate them on direction and brand standards.
  • Conduct General Sales Meetings for our distributor partners.
  • Formulate plan of action with the correct amount of resources applied to each activity.
  • Conduct trade tastings targeting our key trade partners and customer fan base.
  • Effectively manage and utilize point-of- purchase (POS) materials to stimulate sales and promote TFE brands in the market.  
  • Monitor competitive activities in the market place and communicate to the appropriate people with a suggested plan of action.
  • Utilize market data to identify opportunities within each channel and brand.
  • Manage and/or assist in event organization.
  • Complete administrative tasks, including activity recaps, in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Effectively manage expense budgets.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or similar
  • Minimum 3 years of distributor sales experience within the adult beverage industry
  • Strong presentations and account management skills with the ability to address distributor groups or individual accounts
  • Ability to multi task ongoing programs across multiple channels
  • High energy with the ability to execute 4 ride withs per week
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • 80% field work and 20% distributor meetings
  • Must be able to work some nights and weekends depending on key activity commitments.

Working Conditions:

  • 90% field work and 10% distributor meetings
  • Frequent travel, both by car and air
  • Ability to lift at least 45 pounds (case of wine)
  • Regular working schedule to include evenings and weekends
  • Long and irregular hours during peak seasons and/or special events
  • Moderate to heavy physical work (moving wine cases and retail supplies, setting up for special events)
