Manager, Supply Chain

Job Summary:

The Supply Chain Manager serves as the leader of the team responsible for the end-to-end coordination and management of TFE Bottling raw materials and Bottling Line scheduling.   Primary responsibilities include the sustainment and implementation of an operationally optimized 12-week production schedule, procurement and delivery of raw materials for bottling line production, and team coaching and development.  This position is tasked with building and maintaining strong partnerships with planning, winemaking, procurement, manufacturing operations and quality control.   The person in this role is progressive leader, a strong facilitator, an analytical thinker and a great communicator with an eye for detail.  Scheduling decisions in many ways have considerable impact on an organization's morale, costs and profits.  The position requires the championing of change, innovation, and facilitating/leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Leadership:

  • As a TFE Health and Safety leader, sets the example and facilitates discussions with the team regarding good safety practices, improvements and safety culture and engagement.
  • Utilizes servant leadership and emotional intelligence as caretaker of the team’s culture and engagement; fosters a cohesive work environment, develops direct reports and ensures that all team members understand career path opportunities.
  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives cross-functionally to drive out waste and improve the value stream using Lean and/or Shingo methodology and principles.
  • Provides change leadership within the team and for partner functions.
  • Delegates responsibilities as needed; holds team-members accountable for on-time, high-quality delivery of ad-hoc projects and routine data tasks.
  • Ensures that all team members are following targeted Development Plans and have established annual Performance Objectives.
  • Participates in Operations Human Resources Planning events; provides recommendations for team member promotions and changes in roles/responsibilities.

 

Scheduling:

  • Manages the development of detailed bottling schedules, while adhering to all operating strategies, weighing tradeoffs and conflicting priorities, and driving decisions that most efficiently utilize TFE’s resources.
  • Evaluates capacity constraints, inventory priorities, and technical scheduling techniques to support & schedule discreet manufacturing at the L99 repack/ rework area.
  • Acts as backup to the Supply Chain Scheduler.
  • Delivers concise explanation of urgent problems to supervisor while offering solution options/ tradeoffs.
  • Educates cross-functional team on operating strategies directly related to scheduling rules, winemaking minimum runs, & changeovers.
  • Leads team meetings to ensure alignment on schedule requirements.

 

Material Procurement and Delivery:

  • Leads and supervises material planners to ensure accurate and timely delivery of direct materials to production facilities/lines.
  • Works with cross-functional team to ensure that material flows efficiently in and out of facilities.
  • Manages escalation of supplier and quality issues from direct material buyers to category managers.
  • Works with Procurement and Planning to build appropriate safety stock and delivery strategies.
  • Provides recommendations on category strategies to improve supplier performance and optimize TFE supply chain performance.
  • Coordinates efforts to ensure accurate and optimal raw material inventory levels across all Bottling sites.

 

Other:

  • Assists in the continuing development and integration of the planning systems, including IBP, ECC, Sharepoint, & interactive Excel reports.
  • Prepares special reports as required to analyze production requirements.  Uses existing systems and learns new systems as we go forward.
  • Runs complex reports and deliver ad-hoc projects at the direction of supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree required, area of study in Supply Management, Operations, Engineering or Mathematics preferred
  • Years of Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Production Planning and Analysis/Procurement
  • Lean certification or high familiarity with Lean and continual improvement methodologies
  • Experience with Lean tools and processes
  • APICS certification preferred
  • Strong math, analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Enterprise System experience required - (SAP/IBP)
  • Experience with material requirements planning (MRP) systems and concepts
  • Computer Skills:  MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present solutions clearly and concisely
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience/knowledge of wine, wine production, and wine industry a plus
