Job Summary:

Assist with the repair and maintenance of all equipment used in the Trinchero vineyards operation.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with the maintenance and repair of all equipment assigned to the vineyard area shops.  Plan jobs, projects and schedule equipment for repair
  • Have an understanding of and the necessary skills to repair tractors, vineyard implements, grape harvesters, ATV’s, RTV’s plus pickups and large trucks and trailers
  • Supervise the installation and implementation of new equipment
  • The ability to weld and the knowledge required to install and maintain electrical and hydraulic equipment.  Some fabrication experience is useful
  • Assist the Director of Vineyard Maintenance and VP Vineyard Operations in budget preparation
  • Act as a company representative with machinery and parts suppliers
  • Occasionally attend and contribute to vineyard manager meetings
  • Coordinate the use of the vineyard truck assuring the efficient distribution and pick up of vineyard equipment
  • Fostering a cooperative working atmosphere within the vineyard area shops, among the vineyard area vineyard managers and their staffs plus encouraging collaboration with Trinchero mechanics and managers outside the immediate vineyard area

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Years of experience: 2 or more years’ experience, agricultural mechanic experience preferred
  • Proven mechanical ability for the repair and maintenance of all vineyard farming implements which shall include but not be limited to fabrication, welding, electrical, and hydraulic equipment
  • The operation of vineyard equipment plus familiarity with the operation of tools that are found in farming R&M shops (lathe, drill press, band saw, grinder etc.)
  • Problem solving/troubleshooting skills when addressing mechanical, electrical, fabrication and personnel issues
  • Good communication skills with detailed follow up
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrates leadership abilities and can train, motivate and counsel in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively (English required; Spanish preferred), demonstrate reading, writing, and have basic computer skills

 

 

Working Conditions:

  • Moderate to heavy physical work
  • Work site may be any one of Trinchero Family Estates’ facilities- The primary work site shall be located at the Trinchero Eschinger Ranch Shop.  The Vineyard Mechanic will be asked from time to time to work at any and all of the Trinchero Vineyard locations (from Amador County to Santa Barbara)
  • Standing for long periods of time (8 hours per day)
  • Must comply with all safety equipment requirements including ear plugs and safety glasses
  • Exposure to various chemicals in production areas
  • Exposure to machinery, forklifts and related production equipment
  • Long and irregular hours during peak periods or on various shifts, including the Saturday and Sunday work associated with farming
  • Extensive walking and lifting of up to 55 pounds
  • Exposure to outside elements (heat, wet and/or damp conditions, cold)

Salary Range: $26.75 -  $32.65
