Bottling Maintenance Lead

Job Summary:

Plan and direct the daily activities of the bottling maintenance staff, to include maintenance, training, operational support, and continuous improvement efforts.  Support a team culture that values accountable and engaged safety behaviors, supports innovation and continuous improvement activities that target production and maintenance processes, and consistently drives toward increased quality and efficiency through standardization, skill development, and root cause problem solving.

  • Embraces and leads in TFE’s Zero Incident Safety Culture, encouraging and demonstrating accountability and engagement with TFE safety programs.
  • Support and direct continuous improvement efforts of GIR Bottling Maintenance team, coordinating and communicating with cross-functional groups to solve problems.
  • Coordinate the daily activities of the bottling maintenance mechanics as directed by the Bottling Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance work according to operational requirements and restrictions of the bottling production schedule.
  • Maintain an accurate record of maintenance activity and parts inventory using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Execute preventative maintenance program for packaging machinery and ancillary equipment systems, periodically evaluating program requirements with respect to machine condition and operational demands.
  • Assist with improvement and management of Bottling Maintenance spare parts database and physical inventory.
  • Assist in development and implementation of Bottling Maintenance training programs to ensure appropriate standards for maintenance are met, and to expand team-wide capability.
  • Lead the troubleshooting and repair of packaging machinery utilizing skills in a variety of categories, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, as well as an understanding of electronic control systems.
  • Communicate written and oral instructions to assigned mechanics, as well machinery status updates to supervisor and customers when necessary.
  • Provide support to line captains and production line staff to ensure efficient daily operational efficiencies as required
  • Understand and support the Food Safety and Quality Management System, including the GMP Policies and Procedures.
  • Uphold a standard of cleanliness in all Bottling Maintenance areas of responsibility.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years as a Mechanic in a production environment required; 2 + years’ experience as Forman or Lead in bottling or packaging maintenance industry preferred
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required, 2 year degree preferred
  • Organizational skills and the ability to follow through on projects with minimal supervision
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude
  • PC literate and able to understand and use spreadsheets in production applications
  • PLC literate with the ability to write programs and input program changes preferred
  • Able to work with parts inventory and preventative maintenance scheduling software

Working Conditions:

  • Moderate to heavy physical work
  • Work site may be any one of Trinchero Family Estates’ facilities
  • Standing for long periods of time (8 hours per day)
  • Must comply with all safety equipment requirements including ear plugs and safety glasses
  • Exposure to various chemicals in production areas
  • Exposure to machinery, forklifts and related production equipment
  • Long and irregular hours during peak periods or on various shifts
  • Extensive walking and lifting of up to 55 pounds
