Sanitation Operator I - Swing Shift

Job Summary: Responsible for performing cleaning activities on the bottling lines. Under direction of Bottling Foreman and Production Supervisor, responsible for executing cleaning activities to ensure that all bottling lines, associated processing areas, and material storage areas are cleaned efficiently and safely according to safety procedures and any procedures required by SQF standards.

Essential Functions:

• Perform cleaning and sanitation operations in their entirety, to include the following:

• Completing daily work and activities associated with Bottling Sanitation.

• Adhere to training and company policy, safety procedures and protocols as prescribed in the Cleaning Sanitation manual.

• Communicates to Production Supervisor any problems with bottling line, packaging equipment, and or any potential food safety problems or concerns.

• Wear PPE properly, as it pertains to the cleaning program. This includes items such as proper gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, aprons, boots, etc.

• Ensure proper use of all chemicals as defined in the MSDS, Including chemical dilution, proper ventilation, and proper use and disposal of chemicals according to label directions.

• Execute proper cleaning techniques when cleaning equipment.

• Ensure that cleaning activities are scheduled, performed and completed in such a way that do not interfere with production activities or with scheduled production.

• Maintains appropriate cleaning records and chemical inventory records.

• Responsible for understanding Quality Management System related activities, the food safety and quality policies including awareness of the SQF Standard(s) currently being administered in assigned area(s).

• Responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for employees and notifying Foreman or Production Supervisor of any potential safety issues.

• Ensure that the Clean-up team adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

• Complete other projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 2 or more years of cleaning/sanitation experience in manufacturing environment, preferably food and/or beverage manufacturing.

• Must be able to work effectively in a highly controlled and system regulated environment.

• Willingness to take training courses as required.

• Must be able to operate a forklift and or floor scrubbing equipment.

• Must have good communication skills.

• Must be able to accurately carry out written and verbal instructions.

• Must be able to work in a safe, efficient, cooperative manner.

• Good interpersonal skills.

• Must demonstrate effective attention to detail.

• Ability to respond well to frequently changing production schedules and pressures.

Working Conditions:

• Moderate to heavy physical work

• Work site may be any one of Trinchero Family Estates’ facilities

• May require shift work

• May require weekend work

• Standing for long periods of time (8 hours per day)

• Must comply with all safety equipment requirements including ear plugs and safety glasses

• Exposure to various chemicals in production areas

• Exposure to machinery, forklifts and related production equipment

• Exposure to noise and temperature variations

• Long and irregular hours during peak periods or on various shifts

• Extensive walking and lifting of up to 50 pounds
