Job Summary:

Agriculture Support specialists are responsible for programming, operating and maintenance of the LAA irrigation systems. The Employee will also contribute or assist to the Maintenance team when needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Set up irrigation equipment to execute daily irrigation plan.
  • Operate irrigation valves to direct water to desired field location.
  • Utilize HMI screen to operate and troubleshoot irrigation equipment.
  • Perform in-field work as necessary to ensure water flows as intended.
  • Perform weed control activities such as weed eating and spraying.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical issues and coordinate with site support team members as necessary to resolve challenges.
  • Record irrigation flow numbers.
  • Preform road and levee repairs under direction of supervisor.
  • Use of Hand tools and power tools.  
  • Responsible for understanding Quality Management System related activities, including the quality policy
  • Assist with general winery maintenance as needed
  • Maintain all work areas and equipment in clean and sanitary condition.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school Diploma or equivalent
  • Years’ Experience: 1 – 2 years
  • Demonstrates a Highly motivated work ethic.
  • Ability to respond to frequently changing production pressures.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of standard practice using equipment and other requirements for workplace safety.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift 55 pounds.
  • Long hours during crush and peak periods.
  • Able to work all shifts
  • Exposure to outside elements (heat, cold, wind, wet or damp conditions.
  • May require heavy physical work (lifting, climbing, bending, pulling, or squatting for long periods of time).
  • Respirator use
  • Operate AG equipment (Tractors, Kubota and Earth moving equipment)
